When I say that I’m passionate about Jesus, some people wonder if I’m a little strange and that’s fair enough. When Jesus claimed that he was the Son of God, I’m pretty sure that plenty of people thought that he was nuts too… Many people still think that way today.
I didn’t grow up in a Christian family. My parents were raised in Japan around Shinto and Buddhist beliefs. My choice to follow Jesus was based on the experiences I’ve had in my own life. I made up my mind on what the bible had to say about Jesus, God and being a Christian.
I don’t subscribe to religion and I don’t subscribe to the rules and regulations that the church often uses to define Christianity. I simply believe in Jesus.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” – Romans 10:9-11
For me, being a christian isn’t about being perfect. In fact, understanding that I’m not perfect has been the key to understanding the truth that Jesus speaks about in the bible. My faith in Jesus gives me hope when life gets me down and encouragement to strive forward when things are great.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. – Ephesians 2:8-10
I choose to live with a simple purpose on my heart: To Love God and to Love People. You can follow my faith journey on my blog.
