On Saturday 18 September 2010, the Cotter Dam Discovery Trail was opened to the public. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to the opening and BBQ. I did however, visit the trail a few days later, missing the crowds and enjoying the view of the current construction on the dam.

The walk is nice and relaxing and not strenuous at all. Being suitable for wheelchairs and strollers is fantastic and gives everyone the opportunity to see this amazing dam as it is built over the next 12 months.

Signs along the Cotter Discover Trail have some interesting information about the Cotter area and it’s heritage. On the viewing platform, signs share facts about our water supply as well as the technical details of the new dam.
