A prayer for Sandy Hook: “Amen”

It’s a terrible tragedy when the lives of innocent children, full of life and laughter are lost. This is a prayer by a friend of mine, Liz Cole.

Twenty angels went home today — twenty sons and daughters. As they went, the people paused to pray.

Our Father in Heaven
Your world is so broken
Come heal us, draw near us
Let Your peace overcome; Amen.

People weep, as the stories are revealed of courageous leaders who laid down their lives for the small.

Our Father in Heaven
Your world is so broken
Come heal us, we’re hurting
Let Your peace overcome; Amen.

Our Father in Heaven
Your world is so broken
Come near us: heal us.
Let Your peace overcome; Amen.
Let Your peace overwhelm all men
Let Your peace overcome; Amen.

Our Father in Heaven
Your children are broken.
Come heal us, King Jesus
Let Your peace overflow; Amen.
Let Your peace overcome.
Amen.
