If someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.But do this in a gentle and respectful way.- 1 Peter 3:15
I remember the first time that someone asked me about my faith and I freaked out. I wasnt sure what to say or how to explain it. As a new Christian all I had was I just believe. A powerful statement of my faith in the hope that Jesus offered but without explainable foundation.
If youve committed to living life under Christ, the most powerful explanation that you have is in your story. In fancy words, its your testimony. Ive often asked people about their story and theyll start with “Well, its not that interesting…. Heres the thing, in Christ, your story is powerful. Every decision you make and every challenge you overcome is testament to your life in the Father.
Each step in your journey with Christ has eternal significance. You cant say that’s not interesting.
Sharing our hope as Christians isnt about attacking others for the things that theyre doing wrong, its about understanding the shortcomings that weve overcome in our own lives though Christ. Its about sharing how the love and grace of Jesus in our past experiences has redefined our eternal future.
Consider your story, how can you better share it to emphasise the impact Jesus has had in your life.
