This year, I had a great time in Toowoomba for Easterfest 2012. There were some big bands and I really enjoyed the worship with Michael W. Smith, Parachute Band and Mercy me. The bush dance with The Smashing Bumpkins was epic and Rapture Ruckus went off!
But in amongst all this amazing atmosphere, there was one young lady that touched my heart with some really real music. With an amazing voice and a keyboard she reminded me what worship is all about. Her name is Liz Cole (Liz Cole Ministries on Facebook).
A few nights ago, I put on Liz’s latest album, Daughter of the King. I figured that the nice tunes would be nice and relaxing before bed. I certainly wasn’t expecting to end up wide awake thinking about what she was sharing about!
Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs. – Psalm 66:4
Liz has such an amazing heart. She has a love for Jesus that you can see as soon as you meet her and she expresses it so beautifully though her music.
Here are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs by Liz Cole. Some other songs I really love include, Praise Your Name and Our God is Able.
You can Buy her album Daughter of the King on iTunes.
Liz Cole – Awake (Daughter of the King) Lyrics
There’s so many different opinions, perspectives
it’s hard to discern between right and wrong.
With such a fine line between voice and respect
it’s hard to speak out and be strong.
When religion meets war and discussion meets anger
it’s hard to perceive the reality.
We seek answers for why God allows flood and famine
disease and poverty
But I know that the stars are no accident,
the tumbling waves are no mistake.
I can see you in everything since the day
you made my soul awake.
There’s so many different facts figures and feelings
but in the confusion there’s clarity.
Though I cannot explain all the ways of the world,
I know that I believe.
I know the stars are no accident,
the tumbling waves are no mistake.
I can see you in everything since the day
you made my soul awake.
I know that I am no accident,
the life I’m given is no mistake
I can see that I have a destiny to embrace
cause you made my soul.
I know the stars are no accident,
the life I’m given is no mistake.
I can see you in everything
since the day you made my soul awake.

A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word ‘darkness’ on the walls of his cell. – C. S. Lewis

Dear Korske
Its so true! My wife and I are constantly blessed by Liz and her God-given gifts. But what stands out the most is that she is true to herself and her words: Liz is the same off stage as she is on stage! We see God’s colours displayed throughout her everyday life in many beautiful shades.
We are blessed to be in the same church and Liz is such an encouragement and inspiration to our entire church!
I pray that God continues to speak to you through Liz’s music.
In Jesus’ name,
Steve
Dear Korske,
I second what you said, Liz is a truly amazing inspiration to me as a person and a songwriter—can’t wait for the world to enjoy the songs God has given her!
